“Allright,I’llbringhimbackwithme.”Edwardrapidlydressedhimself.
“I’llgoroundandwakeupthemantoputthehorsein.”
“No,I’lldothatmyselfit’lltakemehalfthetime.”Hemethodicallylacedhisboots.

Edward,withallhiswitsabouthim,wassoonreadyandwithequalrapiditysettoharnessingthehorsehecarefullylitthelamps,astheproverb,morehaste,lessspeed,passedthroughhismind.Intwominuteshewasonthemainroad,andwhippedupthehorse.Hewentwithaquick,steadytrotthroughthesilentnight.
Dr.Ramsay,returningtothesick-room,thoughtwhatasplendidobjectwasamanwhocouldbereliedupontodoanything,whoneverlosthisheadnorgotexcited.HisadmirationforEdwardwasgrowingbyleapsandbounds.
