Hereallyhadnoticednothingwhateverwhileshewaspassingthroughutterdistresshehadbeenashappilyself-satisfiedasusual.ButthemomentaryrecurrenceofBertha’sangerwasquicklystilled.Shecouldnotaffordnowtobeproud.
