Theludicrousgrimaceandtone,andattitudeofaffectedcontrition,withwhichallthiswassaid,ratheramusedTomand,thoughhestillmaintainedanairofsternness,thesubtlenegrosawatoncehisadvantage,andadded,"'ClareifIisn'tmostdead!OlePomp,hepreached,andhegetsmesofullo'graceI'sfittobust.Hastodosomethingwicked,elseI'llgettranslatedonedeseyerdays,like'Lijah,anddenwho'dmas'rhavefurtowaitonhim?"
