Thefirstofthenewideasseemedtoprosper,andthesecond,thoughsuggestedinjoke,wascarriedoutinearnest,fortheotheryoungpeoplewereseizedwithastrongdesiretosendsomethingtotheFair.Infact,allsortsofqueerarticleswereproposed,andmuchfunprevailed,especiallyamongtheboys,whoransackedtheirgardensformammothvegetables,sighedforfive-leggedcalves,blueroses,oranyothernaturalcuriositybymeansofwhichtheymightdistinguishthemselves.RalphwastheonlyonewhohadanythingreallyworthsendingforthoughFrank'smodelseemedquiteperfect,itobstinatelyrefuse
