Anespeciallysplendidsunsetseemedtohavebeenpreparedtowelcomethemwhen,afteralongday'sjourney,theydroveintoawide,greendoor-yard,whereawhitecolt,aredcow,twocats,fourkittens,manyhens,andadozenpeople,oldandyoung,weregailydisportingthemselves.Everyonenoddedandsmiledinthefriendliestmanner,andalivelyoldladykissedthenew-comersallround,asshesaidheartily,
“Well,now,I'mpropergladtoseeyou!Comerightinandrest,andwe'llhaveteainlessthannotime,foryoumustbetired.Lizzie,youshowthefolksupstairsKitty,youflyroundandhelpfatherinwiththetrunksandJennyandIwillhavethetableallreadybythetimeyoucomedown.Blessthedears,theywanttogoseethepussies,andsotheyshall!”
