"Nevermindthem.Theywerecutoutforeachother.Louis,strangetosay,likesherallthebetterforthesefreaks.Hewillmanageher,ifanyonecan.Shetrieshim,however.Hehashadastormycourtshipforsuchacalmcharacterbutyouseeitallendsinvictoryforhim.Caroline,Ihavesoughtyoutoaskanaudience.Whyarethosebellsringing?"

Herlittlefingersfastenedonhisarmshespokeandlookedaffrighted.

Shelookedintoanilluminatedcountenance,whosecharacterswereallbeaming,thoughthepageitselfwasdusk.Thisface,potentinthemajestyofitstraits,sheddownonherhope,fondness,delight.
"Willtherepealdoyougood—muchgood,immediategood?"sheinquired.
